Are you looking for something to do in your spare time but don't know what? Volunteer to help the La Grande Weather Service. You don't have to live in La Grande, Union County, or even Oregon! You can live wherever and still help out. Please click here to fill out a application. Tasks of volunteers include: storm spotting, posting data to website, creating logos, etc. Please note that you WILL NOT be paid. Also, you do not have to "work"24/7. Work when you want (at least 2 days).

On This Day, March 28, In 1988, Severe Thunderstorms In Central Oklahoma Produced Hail Up To Four Inches In Diameter Causing 35 Million Dollars In Damage In Southern Oklahoma County. 1500 New Cars At A General Motors Plant Were Totaled. Several Large Aircraft Were Heavily Damaged At Tinker Air Force Base. Baseball Sized Hail And Seven Inches Of Rain Caused Another Eighteen Million Dollars Damage In Stephens County.
